But in our modern day world, were wer so tend to be so insistent on consciousness as the arbiter of reality, it makes something like death very foreign. This is where other realities, the realities of the unconscious, can come into play. When we're allowed to have a philosophy, r a mythology, or a kind of cosmic outlook that helps con textualize these great mysteries of life and death, then we can face them differently than when we are deprived of that.
