The Colors of Hydrogen
There are two ways to make hydrogen: You can electrolyze water or you can use fossil fuel. If the electricity is renewable, then that is called green hydrogen. Interestingly, if it's not renewable electricity, it has a different color and then it's called yellow hydrogen. 2% of the world's carbon emissions comes from making hydrogen - mostly from this sort of hydrogen where the emissions just go into the atmosphere.
