Is Your Heart Rate Drifting by More Than 5%?

If it's 32 degrees and you have a fan on yourself and you put water on yourself, this is when we begin the system. If your heart rate doesn't drift by more than 5% when you're at a steady pace, you're probably above aerobic threshold. The other type of cardiac drift that's a lot more relevant to this athlete in this discussion is based on glycogen availability. As your body burns glycogen and exceeds aerobic threshold, the heart rate will go up as glycogen stores go down.
