The Byzantine Army and the Huns
The key unit in any Byzantine army were now the mounted horse archers. The complexity of the Huns composite bow made it hard to adopt them quickly. Goths and Gepids, for example, rode in Attila's train for a decade or two but didn't learn enough to imitate it.
