Is There a Negative Effect of High Triglyceride Levels on Cardiovascular Disease?
High triglycerides are associated with atherogenic cholesterol particles that deposit themselves in the intimate layer of the vascular wall. Yet we don't know how lowering triglyceride levels reduces ASCVD risk score. Evidence is a bit conflicting since triglycerides are not directly involved in the development of clinical impact of atherosclerosis. But the evidence suggests that high dose, highly purified marine omega three fatty acids can reduce cardiovascular risk.
