The Effect of the First Individualism on the Church

Sociologists have been talking about the rise of individualism from 1600s to 2016. The church adapted at this time and so many things that you take for granted are birthed in this period. But then probably in the last 30 years, we moved into a second individualism. This is pushing deeper into freedom. It's hard for churches. They see people less committed. It's harder to build discipleship structures. And it's harder to do missions out into the world.
