The Threat of Arctic Herks
The reason that they are considered threatened or endangered has nothing to do with their population at all it has to do with habitat loss. They're threatened and endangered because they aren't going to have any place to live i can give you a personal example of that when we were uh remember we talked about tunal ik earlier one of the deepest well on the north slope 21 000 feet well. We found a couple of archaeological sites where the engineers wanted to put the the herk strip for the tunal Kik well site out near the coast.
