The first electric guitar to go on sale was the Rickenbacher A25 in 1932. The company would later make and sell all sorts of guitars, including ones used by John Lennon. Shortly afterwards, a guitarist named Elvino Ray bought a frying pan and mounted it inside a wooden frame so it looked more like a regular Spanish guitar. Back with more in a moment.
