Why Do Companies Ask Developer Questions Like This?
Companies ask these questions because they believe it is a proxy for basically an aptitude for solving problems with a computer. It's kind of like to the interviewers, it's a proxy for coding skill that they can judge. I've also heard people say this, not this tweet in particular, but lots of other tweets have said that as a candidate, they felt like the interviewers treated them badly.
