Mycenaean Weapons and Armor

The chariot was used by the mycenaeans as a transport for elites of the warrior class to deliver them onto the battlefield. The armor and weapons mentioned earlier that were buried with the warriors were generally ornamental and were made of sheet gold. It is unclear if these ornamental arms were worn in ceremonies while the warrior was still alive or were only worn for the funeral. As well as these items there has been a range of other weapons and armor that had a practical use that has also been found in many terms. These range from many different varying forms of swords and daggers and a range of spearheads and lighter javelin heads, which were all made of bronze.
