340B - What Is It?
340B is a program that was set up at the same time the Medicaid drug rebate program was set up in 1992. Roughly half of all hospitals in the United States participate in this 340B program. Once you qualify, you can get discounts of up to 100% on prescription drugs. It's become a big source of profits for PBMs and chain pharmacies as well.
