We live in a very complex society. We cannot take merit for granted. Competence and achievement aren't just bonuses. They're not just nice have. They're musta haves, aren't we? The only reason that those minorities are there at that particular school is because the school wants them so badly that it is introducing a wildly disparate double standard of admission for them. A reign of mediocrity is not just a blight on civilization. It is gonna put lives at risk.
