The Mental Model of a Great Business
One of the hallmarks of a great business would be durability. If we look at how many businesses last 10 years after their form, it's a very small number. The oldest business in the world that I'm aware of is about 700 years old. And so when we get to about 300 or 400 years or 500 years, you're basically left with liquor companies and human vices. We have to separate what we don't hold a signal from what we will do forever.
