How to Find the Right Phage

Phage hunting is an ongoing thing for Dr George Ecker. He smuggles water in a bottle back to his colleague and hopes the bacteria will eat it. Phages are about 200 nanometers, so they're a tiny fraction of your fingernail. By the time you can see a hole, there's probably 10,000 individual bacterial phage particles.
