'Song of the South' - Disney's 'Dumbo'
Song of the south won its only competitive oscar in the best song category firzipedy duda, where it was up against songs by lesser composers from films that i've mostly never heard of. disney knew that going out on a limb to say he was campaigning for basket for an oscar nomination would virtually paint him as a champion of civil rights. Baskett and his family were thrilled to accept this token acknowledgment from the hollywood establishment. Though many sources claim the award was given posthumously, there are photographs of basket actually accepting his trophy.
