There's also very much a sociological element to art buying in competition with one another. This is what the auction houses feed at auctions. And among many other reasons, of course, aesthetic value is the biggest power of all underneath that. But it's always fascinated me to see what will happen to the prices of the expensive art that Westerners bought after the war since the 1970s and 80s. What happens to that? Is that taste shared with a new generation of wealthy who could be from anywhere? Right. The art market's reaction, I hope, is to diversify across the world and to sell art from many different countries. We are now starting to see a shortage of labor
