How Long Does It Take to Drive a Car Into Space?
Astronauts make a ton of crumbs and here on earth we can just wipe them up and space. They get in their eyes into the electric panels like you were saying. So to avoid these problems, astronauts usually have tortillas, which are less crumbly. The line where Earth's atmosphere ends and space officially begins is called the Carmen line - it's only about 62 miles above the Earth's surface.
