The Hoax of George Hall

In 1868, George Hall spent $2,600 on a hoax to prove the pastor wrong. Berghardt put stains and asses on the giant sculpture to give it like that weathered shabby sheet look. In November of 1868, Hall transported the giant in an iron sealed box via train to his cousin's house. He buried the giant near Newell's barn and wedged it under some roots.
