Is Lightning Adoption Successful?

It'll be very interesting to see if a trend begins to develop where like the overwhelming majority of lightning network activity actually emanates from sovereign users in the West and services that are popping up in developing countries. I could definitely see that materializing as well. It's not like the one of the cool parts, one of the difficulties with lightning growth is that it's literally a permissionless protocol for payment channels on Bitcoin.
