Y Combinator co-founder Paul Graham moved back to New York after four years in Cambridge. He says he was looking for a place to live and couldn't find the "Cambridge of New York" So he decided to buy an apartment, but his rent control department wasn't exactly luxurious. After spending six months away from home with no job or friends, he came up with another idea that would turn him into a multimillionaire.
