The Fed's Hikes and Core Inflation
Interest rates did not even normalize to pre-pandemic levels until roughly a year ago. Meanwhile, companies are still hoarding employees stuck in PTSD after the 2021 labor shortages. The big unknown at this point is core inflation. If it keeps coming down, then the Fed is done hiking and we're on that 8 to 18 month clock.
