Sally Kohn: There's such an interesting tension here between not wanting to quote waste time and the urgency of finding meaning in our lives. She says there is no notion that once I get through this, there's no notion of the other side. Kohn: Elizabeth Gilbert described this to me as walking down the street and having her knees being taken out. And she eventually learned she's like, rather than fight it, let me just create space for it.

Loss and grief. They’re experiences none of us will escape. But some losses are so deep, they shatter your model of the world and lead to a re-examination of how you want to spend your time on the planet. In work, in relationships, in life.
