A raffle is like a local lottery. You typically pay a quid for a little coloured ticket with a number on it. And at some point throughout the evening, the raffle winners are nced. A big piece of meat is often part of the prizes, especially around christmas time. So now, if you hear you're a ticket colour ad number being called out, we have ar pink 32 andad. Then you'd subtly raise your hand with your ticket in it and start walking over to collect your prize. But not jumping for joy and shouting out and whooping so proudly that be far too american of you.
