The Swift package index participated in the Swift mentorship program again this year. We had two mentees come on board and implement features. One of them basically implemented author support for the Swift package index. The idea for the Swift yaml file came from us wanting to add authors support, which we recently just added. There's a few things that you can do in Swift package index to customize using this, like, yamel file you've set up.
