When naroji died, there was a collection of probably maybe 50 thousand documents. It took him 20 odd years to go through the papers and cull out collections for or publication. When i got to the national archives in ingeli, by this point and time, had whittled down to maybe around 40 to 30 thousand documents. So what we have over here is a very clear track record of loss because of bad record keeping. A lot of stuff gets lost. And naroti is actually one of the best cases of preservation that we have,.
