The Importance of Art in My Life

I think I used art to protect myself from the world. My very last composition teacher was a very brilliant Australian composer called David Lumsden. He opened the idea that life wasn't just about writing music and that life could be celebrated throughout. And so that became part of my Buddhist practice, which is one reason why I teach writing, to help people see them. Now I'm coming to the end, but I can only at this point protest what were on this man sitting here and do that. So I hope I don't think I will shape that.
