Hatfield, the Rainmaker

Dr Hatfield, as the local newspapers called him, became a bigger hero than Mussolini. But this was a case of myth quickly outgrowing reality. As brother Paul later explained, we were never in Italy. So the story about him going to Italy was apparently just a myth that the newspapers printed - not something that actually happened.
