The process of gentification is familiar enough to many urban dwellers. A formerly working class or mixed community is totally changed by the arrival of wealthier people intent on improving housing and attracting new forms of business. To some, including those involved, this can appear as almost the natural way, the inevitable way, in which cities develop and change. Today i'll be talking to two analists who not only challenge this belief, but also analyze in detail all that is lost by such urban transformation.
