The Potential Adverse Effects of West Nile Vaccines

Vaccines can be made available before licensure through studies conducted under an investigational new drug or application. An emergency use authorization would address a much larger public need as occurred during the COVID pandemic. Non-replicating, inactivated or subunit vaccines might have a better safety profile but they typically require multiple doses to induce protective immune response.
