Mabel Lee was the first Chinese woman to get a PhD from Columbia University. In 1917, Mabel participated in another suffrage parade as part of the Women's Political Equality League. As a Chinese, immigrants still could not vote. She planned on setting up a business, importing Chinese herbal medicine,.
