Nubia sits at the intersection of several of africa's keyen oments, from desert to mountainous highlands. Nubia stretches out in both directions on either side, west into the libyan desert and east toward the red sea and the ethiopian plateau. The southern end of traditional nubia lies at the city of khartum.
