The Role of Desire in Penitential Practices
Father Gregory: We rely on God who is omnipotent and merciful to give us everlasting life that he's promised. But if we rely really much on ourselves, right, then we can become presumptuous and when doing so, if we fail,then we can become despairing. He says the Lord will expand your imagination to include what it is that he desires of you and will impart to you the grace to actually carry it out.
