The History of the British Army
It's a narrative led, but also object led. I had to leave out lots of amazing objects. Presumably we're starting in 1700s because it wasn't a British army before that. That's right. There's an English army. But really, it's not until later that the British army really comes to life. In terms of scale, it's a glorious revolution in 689 when the army really grows. And then obviously in due course the Irish and British and the Scottish regiments come into what becomes a British army. We trace our history back to 1660 with the restoration.
