Cheap Emigrants Can Save You Money, but It Comes at a Cost to Some of Our Poorest Americans
Migrants do work for cheap wages in our fields and in our factories. But there is one group that absolutely does not benefit from foreign workers, especially illegal workers. A landmark study done back in two thousand and 16 by the national academies of sciences, engineering and medicine looked at the fiscal and economic impact of emigration. It found that emigrants tended to depress wages for nat born americans,. most namely those without a high school diploma.
