The Effects of Exercise on Nitric Oxide Production

The ability to produce nitric oxide predicts your exercise capacity or how well you can perform. When we reach that anaerobic threshold, and oxygen availability becomes limiting, then the nitrite that's accumulated in the plasma from the production of nitric oxide gas is especially reduced back to nitric oxide. So what you do is you create this buffer for yourself when exercising. And then when you start exercising, you build up this buffer of nitrite. This builds up as nitrate and nitrite. You get less lactic acid build up better recovery.
