Is Secession Really for the Citizens?

On both sides we have desires that aren't inherently wrong. The idea that you are a member of some a nation, whether you like it or not,. And you have a duty to be governed by that nation is usually at play when we have this melting pot of issues. Ultimately, what should govern is our preferences but because people have different preferences, we end up with this conundrum of how we can satisfy the greatest number of people. We have to decide o what to do, because you can't please everybody.
