It seems fairly difficult, even in academia, to create these functional, long term, high trust working groups between people in a field. I was very lucky to be part of such a working group when i spent my graduate days at a ph g an nerro science. But efan in industry, right? There's this aspect of the industrial revolution where you can see something similar to what you see in the hard sciences.
