The Evolution of Neanderthal DNA

We think that Homo sapiens bred with Neanderthal because there's some DNA in our genetic code. We do have a significant amount of Neanderthal DNA in just modern day populations. I don't know that they necessarily died out the way that we think like an mass extinction so much as perhaps modern day humans absorb them. The funny thing is though, Jen, if you look at a skeletal of a Neanderthal compared to Homo sapiens, it's like they're somewhat similar, but the bone mass of a Neandertha is heavy.
