What's the Difference Between French and Creole?

People of Akhijian descent are Creole people technically. People may say my parents spoke French because they identify as French, but their ancestors actually spoke French. They really need to understand that there's such a mixture in Louisiana. And my mother would tell me in Louisiana, you don't know who's who or what's best.
