When it comes to Christ that's the Lord the Shepherd so he's specifically saying the Lord is my shepherd. Jesus was this guy who lived and he was great and I learned a lot from him but he's gone now. If you don't place your faith in Jesus Christ though then what do you have? You fight and claw for your place in the universe.
