The Low Repayment Limit on Campaign Contributions

The First Amendment protects the right to spend money on and contribute money to campaigns, but that right is not absolute. The fact that you are forced to do something within 10 days of something else, it just doesn't strike me as that big a burden on your free speech. A law that imposes a severe burden on protected speech such as a restriction on independent campaign spending is subject to strict scrutiny.
