In systemic coaching there's a slightly different approach where we look to the past a little more. Not in a therapeutic way, but merely to identify the origins of the pattern. And so hence this question: Did you grow up in an orphanage? Because often if you're in an orphanages and you're moved around a lot, you would have had a childhood experience of not belonging.
