The Importance of the Promise

Once a covenant or an agreement is ratified, you can't add to it. You don't signed mortgage papers and say, hey, can we take 20 grand off the price of this? That's not how that works. Once you insert the law into into your salvation, you have absolutely annulled the idea that salvation comes through promise. It totally does away with it. So you can't sneak some in or you get rid of it. It no longer comes by promise.
