Tolkien is a world builder, but he's also like a theology as well. In the Lord of the Rings, when they go to the Barrow White, there's all these evil wraith creatures inhabiting the Barrows. Tolkien would resonate very much with that view of the creative process. And part of what Sayers said is that she had trouble as did Tolkien with the idea that you should write literature in order to convert people or evangelize them.
