The Status Quo Is More Revealing of People's Preferences Than Most Americans Do
I suspect that our politics are more revealing of actual preferences than folks on either side of the aisle. I think democratic accountability is for all its imperfections, the best measurement that we have. There's an opportunity here to get white working class people to take the working class part of their identity more seriously than the white part of their Identity.
