Is There More Sheer Dumb Luck Than That?
How can policy makers create the conditions for more of that kind of rich teaching and learning to occur? I don't think a model that says something like this, we're going to give these assessments. It's simply going to be a set of measures given to them at a certain point with the admonition that you have to do better. But there's no place in all that where then you're taking teachers together and forming intellectual communities. They're ner like a whole other way, a kind of a a human development way that we could think about addressing this problem That we're not educating all our kids as well as we should.
