The Emergence of Digital Twins of People

A new book talks about the emerging efforts to make digital twins of people. The Barcelona Supercomputing Center or BSC is using their supercomputer, Mara Nostrum, to create something called Alia Red with 100 million virtual cells. CompBioMed is working with Germany's Super MuckNG to model blood flow in the complete circulatory system of an actual 26-year-old woman named Eunson. Some models have been approved for what are called in-silico trials. Testing a drug or a treatment or virtual patients instead of using animals or humans.
