The Coriolis Force and Water
The idea that the water just goes straight down the drain rather than swirling on the equator is also false. If you set it up right, you can get water to flow straight down regardless of which hemisphere you're in. You cannot jump through a glass window without getting at least some cuts and bruises and quite possibly without killing yourself. Jumping through windows and surviving is certainly possible, but I wouldn't recommend it or as injury free as it's indicated in the movies. These two myths are also widely perpetuated in movies.
