Is There a Good Chance That We Will Not Recover?

Most people think that it's very likely that those people would then be able to rebuild all the civilization that we have now, and then potentially eventually more later on. Are there any reasons for thinking that that we just might not recover? i don't really make claims in the book as to whether it's likely or not likely. I think that it depends a little bit on the risk as to whether the contribution vir a unrecoverable collapse of civilization is higher or lower than the contribution Vir a direct extinction. And also, we think that, you know, often our industrial technologies are the types of things that can destroy us.
