Rob Pennock: I find it interesting that you have some associations with the artificial life research community, as well as AI. He says he was fascinated by Darwinian evolution in a computer simulation and then sent them to a 3D printer and they walked around the real world. After doing an undergrad in philosophy, he traveled for a while and eventually wound up doing research on it just to pursue that interest. And so that's been interesting for me to see kind of the merger of these separate interests.
